Today we're sharing our DIY ideas for reusable cleaning wipes, dryer sheets, and sandwich bags. These simple lifestyle changes are not only good for the environment, they can also help you save money and get those creative DIY juices flowing.
Zero Waste DIY Ideas for an eco-friendly home:
1) Reusable Sandwich Bags
- Cut a square of fabric - 12 x 12 inches
- Cut a matching square of waterproof fabric
- Stack the squares, right sides facing in, and stitch around the edges, leaving a 2 inch opening
- Once stitched, turn the squares right side out and lay flat
- Stitch around the edges again to secure the bag
- Fold the corners in and place velcro closures, then stitch them into place

2) Reusable Cleaning Wipes
- Mix 2 cups water with 3 tbsp Dawn dish soap, 10 drops tea tree oil, and 3 drops peppermint essential oil
- Place 15-20 small wash cloths in a resealable glass jar
- Pour the cleaning mixture over the cloths
- Place the lid on top and use as needed to clean surfaces
- Wash and remake as you use them
3) Reusable Dryer Sheets
- Mix 1 cup white vinegar with 20 drops lavender essentail oil and 10 drops eucalyptus essential oil
- Place 10 small cloths in a glass container with a lid
- Pour the mixture over the cloths and seal with the lid
- Add one cloth in the dryer per load of laundry
- Wash and remake as needed
